When you send paintings/sculptures outside the European Union (EU), the customs offices require specific documentation that needs to be attached to your shipment to be able to export it.
In addition to the customs invoice, the following basic requirements are needed:
- A signed letter of ownership.
- A letter from the living artist.
- A photo of the work.
- ID card of the artist.
Important
Remember that if you send a painting or sculpture that cannot be reproduced by the artist, whose author has died, or that has an economic value of more than £700, it will be considered a work of art. Therefore, this type of product cannot be shipped through PayPal Shipping, because it is included in our list of prohibited items.
Tips
If you have doubts about the exact documentation required to accompany your shipment, contact the relevant customs authority before scheduling the collection to get all the correct information, so that your shipment doesn’t get delayed or is returned.
Likewise, if you send a painting, please check the packaging conditions that must be respected to avoid any damages.
